What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

My desk doesn't look very productive today. Check out some other desks here. But as my buddy Carolyn says...it is what it is. Actually yesterday was a very productive day at PSB. It was Operation Write Home day.

I'm a bit (actually quite a bit) on the sad side this week. I talked with a long time friend on Monday and she told me she has a very rare type of thyroid cancer. Surgery is not an option. She is very positive, as she has always been. She said the doctors told her 2 weeks to 2 months, but says, they have no idea what they are talking about. We've been friends since high school which is nearly 50 years. Though we live 2 thousand miles away, we stay in touch, not as often as we should have, but never far from each others thoughts and prayers. That's what I'm begging for today. Please keep Lynette in your hearts and prayers. She's going through chemo and radiation and that alone is a hard road. She's also using holistic medicine. If anyone would like to send her a card, contact me via my email address and I'll send you her address.

Ok....so, the card on the desk is for her. And the sentiment is from Fiskars and it about says it all: Good friends are like stars....you don't always see them, but you know they're always there.

Have a great day, and maybe take a few minutes to call a friend.

Love to all,
Mary

  1. Your desk looks very lonely......lol. Sending prayers to your friend. Cancer stinks. A positive attitude can make a huge difference. Hugs.

  3. We will be thinking of you and your friend. Keep positive, both of you, and you never know what might happen. The sentiment on the card says it all, beautiful words.
