WOYWW-221

It's Wednesday....grab your camera, snap a shot or two and post what you're working on.....Here's my desk(s).  I"m putting kits together for World Cardmaking Day Oct. 5th.
I moved to the kitchen to start die cutting for 25 kits.  I don't know what I was thinking....10 dies, some of them cut 3 times each, times 25 kits....My right arm won't have any flab when I'm done.  Of course my left arm will still have the giggle....

Here are the partial kits.  4 pages of directions.  I want people to know how to make this card on their own....These are waiting for all the dies to be cut, packaged and added to the kits.....
And this is the beginning of the packing.  Tomorrow I'll be headed to Karen's she's helping me with the die cutting.....I'll show you the finished card on the 21st of Sept.

It hasn't been all kit cutting, I did have time to play with a Die-namics die.  Karen - Paradise Scrapbook Boutique, sells among many other dies, Die-Namic dies.  I saw one that particularily got me thinking.....It's called Chicken Wire....and yes, it could be cut to resemble chicken wire.  But what I saw was a quilt...what do you think?  Quilt?
How about now?
I was thinking of my friend Edy when I made this block.  Edy is a very talented quilter and she'd love if I made at least one quilt block...keep in mind, she never specified that it needed to be made of fabric.... So, Edy, this quilt block is for you!  And thank you Mary Jane for keeping me focused!

Off I go to see what the others have made or are making this week.  Until later....Happy Crafting!

Rudolph Day and Pixie's Crafty Workshop

Can you believe it?  I can't.....It's the 25th of August and I actually have my Rudolph Day card completed....AND.... hold your applause.....I made it completely of scraps.....so, Di is getting a visit from this ole gal!
This didn't photograph as well as I would have liked....lots of glitter on this one, and all white, except for the shiny red nose!  It is Rudolph after all.  Want to see the inside?
I
I'm going to call this a short post.  Brenda is here and I just finished this card.  Now we will go on to play with something else.....Hop on over to Stamping For Pleasure and see all the Rudolph Day entries.  Remember you can post them until the last day of the month.  And then don't forget to visit Pixie's Crafty Workshop to see what all the snippets have turned into.  It's such fun to play along wth these two gals.  Lots of stories and great creations from both.  Seems Sarn isn't the only one thinking about Christmas!  Thanks to both gals for keeping me focused on making Christmas cards.

One more thing...Can you keep a secret?  Keep an eye out for the new releases for the Poppystamps Dies.  You didn't hear it from me, but they are FABULOUS!  I will let you know when they are available.  If I forget, you can always follow along on the Poppystamps blog page.

Ok, so maybe it was two more things....Did you know World Card Making Day is the first Saturday in October?  Put it on your calendar, I'm sure there will be celebrations everywhere.  I'm celebrating by teaching a card class at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  I'll be posting the card on September 21....you can see it, here, on the Paradise Scrapbook Boutique blog page and on the Poppystamps blog....What will you be doing on World Card Making Day?

Off I go for now.....See you again soon, (if I get my act together!)

WOYWW-220 and A Bit Of This and That

Wednesday Already?  Where does the time go?  Well, most of know what Wednesday means.... yes, it's time to share our desk with the world, well, maybe not the whole world, but the crafting world.  Thanks to Julia WOYWW we can all share what we've been up to.  If you have a desk that needs to escape into the cyber world....share with the rest of us.  Leave Julia a little message and then if you have time, hop around.  It's fun and it keeps us creating (maybe not tiding up, but creating!)

These two cards:
Have resulted in moving to the dining room to cut kits for my September Class at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique (reminder the date for this is:  Wednesday 9/11/2013 from 1:00 to 4:00)
Looks organized doesn't it?  Well there is another area where I'm cutting the dies that doesn't look so neat.  I put the camera away before I got to that spot...sorry.....

Here's my helper....doesn't he look energetic?
I did work on a card this week, I'm hoping my friend doesn't look at my blog before the 24th, cause this is the card I made for her husband.
Jerry is an amateur photographer and a good one, I might add.  I knew I needed a camera and a film strip.  Then I found these copper papers ,my friend Virginia cut the camera and the smile.  A bit of rubber stamping, a graphic in the lens and a hidden note and his card is in the mail.

Well, that's it for today.....Have a crafty week, enjoy the journey and see you next week.

WOYWW #219 and Two Beautiful Creations

Honest, I have cleaned my craft room, but then I started creating for 3 up-coming classes....so, one mess cleaned, two others created.  The good news, I have 3 cards ready for putting kits together, and instructions written for two of them.  I feel like I'm getting back to being organized.  I know, from the looks of my desk you would never know!  So, have a look around, leave a comment if you have time and I hope you will then head over to Miss Julia's at Stampin-Ground  to see what everyone has been doing.

I have a little friend that is VERY talented.  Her name is Skyler and she is 5 years old.  She created this beautiful project.  Look at all the work that went into placing each little tile.  Skyler is the grand daughter of my buddy Dee Dee.  I'm sure Skyler's talent runs in her family.  She has a very creative Mom, and Grand Mom.....A big shout out to Skyler and a super big THANK YOU  for thinking of me.  And now....here's Skyler's creation.....
And here's our little crafty girl Skyler.....
I couldn't forget her grandma, Dee Dee.  She made this beautiful card for my birthday.  THANK YOU  Dee Dee, your card is gorgeous!

Well, I'm a bit late posting to WOYWW, but better late than never right?  Wishing you all a most crafty week, and a little reminder, my first post on the Poppystamps blog goes live on August 24th, I hope you hop over to have a look at not only what I've created, but also to see what the design team members are doing.

Until later.  Happy Crafting!

What's On Your Workdesk 218 and A Tag Made For Me

I think I took this photo with my eyes shut, I certainly didn't have it very focused.  Well, for what it's worth, this was my desk this morning.  Last night I just kind of pushed things to the side so I would have a spot to work this morning.  Today I worked on my card class for September.  One card down and one to go...I'll show them in September, or you'll be able to see them when Karen posts them on Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  I'll also post it in September on the Poppystamps blog page.  Hope you check that site out often as it changes almost daily.  For now, this is it, left over bits from a Christmas card I was working on.  Dies given to me by Amy and stuff.  Check out what the others have posted about their desks.  I'm sure you'll find lots going on over at WOYWW.

Before I close, I want to share a tag that Carolyn, a cropin friend made for me.  She had this tag as part of a gift she'd given to me and others in our group.
Pretty cool don't you think?  I love it......

Well, I need to clean up my mess from today, I do hope you take some time to follow the links above.  I know they will enjoy hearing from you as much as I do.

Merry Christmas....And Happy New Year

I know, it's August and we should be thinking about swimming and smelling the roses that are loving the heat of the day and the coolness of the night, but we crafters are already thinking about Christmas.  With this card, I'm one step closer to being ready to mail out my Christmas Cards....
This card doesn't look anything like the original plan.  When I started the center card stock was quite dark.  My friend Cathy and I looked at several combinations and finally came up with this one.  All the dies are Memory Box.  The wreath and the ornament were layered in green and gold.  The pine sprig was cut using the same green as in the wreath.  I love all the bling on the wreath and the tiny bulbs on the pine sprig are so cute.  I honestly think it's going to be very difficult to release this card  I just like it too much to part with it.

And here is what I did on the inside of this card....
I die cut the wreath twice, once in green and once in beige.  I used the negative beige piece to rubber stamp the sentiment and then pieced the green wreath over.  Both were then added to the base, I drop cut a frame, as I'd done on the outside and again used the pine sprig.

Check out the Memory Box website to see more beautiful dies.  If you'd like an up close and personal look at this card, it is displayed at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique

Off I go for now.  Enjoy your week, may it be filled with crafting.

A Class? Maybe. and a visit to the Playground

Hello, playing around with a new Memory Box die and this is the result.  I love seeing what I can do with dies and if I can come up with something a bit different, I'm happy.
This is what the die looks like.  It's beautiful as it is, but you know, if I look at something on my desk, I'm always wondering what would happen if......

So, long story short.  This die is a great way to use up all (well not all, not if your snippet box looks like mine) of those snippets.  I'm going to head over to Di's blog page and post this snippet card.  I'm also thinking about turning this fun creation into a class.  What do you think?  I may have to use some different papers, so don't expect the card to be exactly the same.

Well, that's it for me today.  I hope you have time to visit Di's blog page.  There are loads of talented folk who are visiting this week.  Oh, and there is a chance to win a great gift...all you have to do is create a card using your snippets.  You know you have snippets calling your name...come on, play along.  It's a great way to get your creative juices flowing, and at the end, you'll have a card ready to mail.

Oops....update, this ole gal was too slow to run into the playground this week.  So, I'll be posting when the gates swing open on Sunday.  See, now you have lots of time to create and you can meet me there next week....

Hugs and chat later,
Mary Mac
