My Garden of Birthday Wishes

Can you guess what my favorite color might be?  Yup white....no, just kidding, it's yellow.  I've been thinking about making a gate fold card, and since I've not done one in awhile I thought now is as good a time as ever.  I need tons of birthday cards.  I think May and June are the busiest months for me.  I was shocked to see just how few I have on hand.  So, since today is my day to post on the Poppystamps blog, this is the perfect time get creating.  Do you want to know how I made this card?  Well you can....check it out Here.

I guess you know which bird would be my favorite.  This bird comes every spring.  He also brings his partner and somewhere in the tops of our pine trees they have a nest.  They must like my cooking, because it doesn't take long for them to drain my hummingbird feeder.

Not the best photo, this fella is quick.  I'm sitting very close to the window and he has the sharpest eyes, he sees all movement, and poof, he's gone.  Isn't his color lovely!

Off I go, I'm trying to get lots done today, I'm leaving on vacation in about 2 weeks and I'm not ready or even close to it.

Until next time, hugs from me to you,

Happy Birthday Cathy

Today our card group is celebrating the birthday of a very special lady.  Without her our group would miss her smiling face, her positive attitude and her subtle sense of humor.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY!

This is the card I made for her.  I've got to say, Blue Fern is a paper company that PSB introduced me to and I am so glad Karen brought these lovely papers to her shop.  I'm on a cutting spree, and these papers are perfect with tons of flowers.  I cut the lamp post for this card that is 6x6.  It was too long, so I simply removed the center section of the pole and the post fits perfectly.  A bit of die cutting, dry embossing and the front of this card is complete.  I have to say, Memory Box created a fantastic die Distressed Babtisia Collage and it added the perfect touch to the top left and bottom right corner of this card.  I mounted the layers to a white 6x12 base.

I used another of the Distressed Babitisia Collage dies (there are 4 in the set) to create the inside.  I wanted the computer generated sentiment portion to follow the same shape, so I cut it again in coordinating paper, but a bit smaller this time. Then I trimmed away the decorate pieces to leave what looks like a torn piece.  I made a bit of a mistake, so I covered it with the layered signature.  Added more cut flowers and this card is finished.

Off I go for a day of play,  Until next time.....Happy crafting and Hugs from me to you,

A Fun Just Because Day

Good morning and Happy Crafting Day.... I have to say it's fun to make a card just because you were inspired by the papers.  I won a 12x12 pad of Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home Collection paper during the National Scrapbook Celebration at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  I was excited by the papers in the pad and thought how fun it would be to use them for a Hello card.  This card made me think of my friend Edy, who is quite the quilter.  I on the other hand only quilt on paper.  A sewing machine is not my friend.

So here's my quilt...and I wanted to leave tons of room to write a hello to whoever might receive this card.  Of course the Poppystamps hello makes a great sentiment.  The other die cut pieces are from Avery Elle dies.  If you didn't already know, I am a die-aholic.  Do you think?  Anyway, it was fun creating this card just because.

Here's what the inside looks like.  Nothing fancy here....

Well, I'm off to help my friend serve treats during intermission at the  Spring concert at Paradise Performing Arts.  So, off I shall be going.

Until next time, Happy Crafting and Hugs from me to you,

Sew What's New?

I'm showing you the inside today....if you want to see the outside, you will have to check it out Here
How's that for short?   :-)

I love this button border.  I think I must have been thinking about the 4th of July when I created this card.  I love red, white and blue.

Again, if you want to see the outside,  I do hope you'll pop on over to the Poppystamps Blog Page

 It's my day to post.

That's it for today, I'm trying to get some housework done and the slightest distraction is all it takes for me to head off in another direction.

Until next time, hugs from me to you,

Tag You're It

Tag You're It.....Yup, this is the Sparkles Christmas Challenge for the Month of May and the rules for this month ...you must have a tag.  Now isn't that easy?  Well yes it is.  Guess who thought of this challenge.  I'll give you a hint..... me!  I thought it would be fun to use up some tags, which of course I save all of them, so up cycling is always the plan.

I used 2 of the Petaloo tags that I've been hoarding.  I'm sure we all have a few hoarded supplies.
When I first made this card, I use larger silver sequins.  I was not thrilled with how the card looked.  They were so big that all I saw was the sequins.  So I carefully pulled them off and replaced them with these much smaller red sequins.  I like the change.

This month there are two fabulous sponsors.....

and

You could win a lovely gift, but you can't if you don't enter.  To learn more, check out the rules and the prizes  Here.

I hope your stash of 2015 Christmas Cards is growing.  As we enter the summer season, it will be hot and Christmas isn't always on our mind, but hey, the seasons seem to fly by and Christmas will be here soon enough.

Until next time, have a crafty month, I look forward to seeing what everyone will create.

It's All About Her

Yes it is...It's May and Mother's Day is just around the corner.  The Poppystamps Challenge for May is all about her.  So, it doesn't have to have a Mother's Day theme, but it does need to be something femine.  Well here's what I made.

This card was so much fun to make.  A tri-fold, but a bit different than my previous tri-fold cards.  It's a perfect card for a very special friend.

I'm going with a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are my thousand words.
Here's the how too.  The card base is 6x12, and I scored it at 3 and 6.  The sentiment is rubber stamped on vellum and then heat embossed.  The Window frame was die cut and them dry embossed and then inked.  I've never done this method before, but I will be doing it again.

And here's a better look at the inside of this card....
The papers are from Blue Fern the Montage collection.  They are gorgeous!  The dies are Poppystamps and the window die, my new favorite, is the new Poppystamps window.  It has 2 panes, which make it easier to place your graphic.

You have a chance to play along and I hope you do, because I love seeing what everyone is making.  Head over to the Poppystamps Blog page to find out all the particulars.  I will be checking in to see what you've made....so come on....Play along it's fun and this month is a good chance to use ribbon, dies and bling....Which makes it a perfect month.

I'm off to play in my craft room....I hope this week will give you time to play!  Until next time....

Hugs from me to you,
