Christmas In July

July is the month I begin thinking about Christmas. I'm not a fan of hot, hot summers and today we in Northern California are having just that....Mojo Monday's sketch was just what I was looking for. I've been thinking about the Christmas cards I'd be making for Operation Write Home. The sketch was perfect and it looked like one where I could use my Christmas scraps.

I have a Santa rubber stamp by Stamps Happen. It's one of my all time favorite Santa stamps. I water colored the image and using my Spellbinder square die, I cut Santa and embossed him. While the die was secured to the image, I sponged Tim Holtz Distress Ink around the edges. I didn't have a sentiment small enough to fit this card, using my Print Shop 23 Program, I created the sentiment and then die cut and embossed it. I added a border using my Spellbinder scallop oval and of course....Bling!

I did take some poetic license with the sketch (noticed that did ya!). I reversed the square and the oval size, but all the elements are there. I looked at all my Christmas stamps and Santa kept calling to me. He was too big to fit an oval, but looks great in the square....I'm happy with how the card turned out and now I'm on to water coloring more Santas....

Have a most wonderful week.
