Snowing Sweetness On Your Holiday

Today's card was made with bits and pieces....and that's becoming a favorite kind for me.  I was in my craft room tidying up a tad when I saw the red and green pieces just calling my name.  A few days ago,  I'd stamped colored and die cut the globe and image.  Seems the pieces were just laying there waiting for me.  I"m getting in just under the wire with this card.....Rudolph Days here I come! It's fun to have another Christmas card finished.  Only about 50 more to go....yikes!  And I can't forget to hop over and visit Di at Pixie's Crafty Workshop, after all, even the ribbon was a snippet.  Isn't it fun to use up those zillions of pieces we all have laying about?

I'm not sure what papers I used, but I am sure the image is from Poppystamps - it's the Candy House Globe stamp and die, the sentiment is also from Poppystamps.    I colored using my Spectrum Noir pens and now you know the rest of the story.   Well almost.  Here's what the inside looks like.
Nothing spectacular, but it's finished and that's important to me.....and I think ole Mr. Postman will approve.   It is flat, bendable and will meet the one stamp rule....Or at least I think it will!

I'm off for a day of crafting...... I hope your week is filled with joy.....and lots of time to play!

Tweets to You

A quick post today....If you want to see more of this "tweet" card, you have to fly over to the Poppystamps Blog page.  Today it's my day to play.  I'll give you a tiny hint.....
Before I run off, I want to share a card I received last week.  Thank you Dorthy and Amy.  I think that Dorothy did the coloring with her pencils on this one.  One day I need to sit down with mine.  I just never seem to find the time.  Receiving such a pretty card surely has inspired me.....
I said this would be short....and boy it sure is.....

Have a wonderful week, I hope you find lots of time to play....

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas

By now I would imagine everyone has settled into the school schedule.  I remember those days fondly.  When my youngest started school it was a mother's dream come true.  I'd planned for years how I would spend my "alone" time.  When the magic day finally arrived, the house was soooo quiet, I couldn't get motivated to do anything.  It didn't take long and I was at the school volunteering in classrooms!  I loved every minute.  Finally, I did learn to value my alone time, and that's where my crafting life began.

Now, on to Christmas..... Most of you know I'm on the Poppystamps Design Team and I've been creating away using their most wonderful dies.  Most of you also know that Poppystamps and Memory Box Dies are very closely related:  Mom and Dad and, you will see me using both dies on most of my cards.  Can I say I love them?  OK.....I love them. If you want to know which dies I used, you'll have to hop on over to the blog page  and while you're there, I hope you take a minute or two to hop around to see what everyone else has been up to.  Lots of inspiration there.

Do you want to learn how I made this card?  And maybe take the class?  Well, you can, Karen is doing a kick off to her 7th Anniversary and also World Card Making Day!  I'll be teaching this card  class twice during the month.  My first class is  Saturday October 5th and Wednesday October 9th.  People are already signing up for this class, and the two classes are limited.  Sign up quickly if you want your space saved.  Learn more by contacting Karen.  You can get phone number and directions to her boutique here.  Isn't that a great word - BOUTIQUE, and it surely does describe Karen's wonderful paper crafting shop.  According to Webster, a boutique is a business that serves a sophisticated or specialized clientele.  I've got to tell you, I feel special when I shop at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  Everything is beautifully displayed and inspiration is everywhere.  When I am hitting a creative wall, Karen opens the door and moves me through.  I am so thankful for all I've learned from not only Karen, but from staff and also the girls I've come to know through PSB.   No, this isn't an advertisement, but it should be!

I'm off for now.  Lots to do today.....I'll be spending some alone time in my craft room.  I think I'll be singing Christmas songs as I create....

Hugs and Happy Crafting,

Thank You

I am sooooo behind on sending thank you cards for the most wonderful birthday my crafty friends created.  Today is the day to begin with the making.  This snippet was jumping out at me.  The pink trim was a piece shared by Virginia at one of our crops.  The flower is from another of her share pieces and it was cut using the Memory Box Lovely Aster and positioned over the Memory Box Whimsy Circle.  The print card stock didn't begin as a snippet, but if you cut it wrong more than one is still too short for what you planned...I know, measure twice, cut once.  If I did that, there would be no snippets!  Well, fewer of them anyway.  I then layered the pieces onto a piece of cardstock that I'd embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.
And here's the inside.  I made a little tag to write my note.  A little bling and I'm done.  Well not quite, I'm heading over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop to see what the other playground gang has been up to.  If you have snippets, how about joining us on the playground.  It's easy, it's fun and there are lots and lots of crafty folk there.

Off for a day of play with Brenda.....until next time....Happy Crafting and Hugs from No. California!

Birthday, The Girls, WOYWW and Pixie's Crafty Workshop

Whew....I am plain tuckered out this week.   A bit ago, I looked over at my dog and this is a photo of exactly how I am feeling this week.....He's probably tired for walking from one side of the couch, to this favorite spot with his blanket and pillow...
On the upside, I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.....Today I actually got to finish up a card I started last night.....It's a week late, I hope he will understand.  Here's what I made.  I used up a few snippets on this one.  Those of you who play along with Di at Pixie's Crafty Workshop will know what I mean when I say snippets.  Check it out.....I know you'll love playing along.
I think the fact that I started making this card on 9-11, the patriotic colors came into play.  I also needed something that was pretty quick to make, and this card was just that.  Here's the simple inside and you couldn't get any quicker than this.....

I'm happy.....being in a hurry, I'd forgotten to take a photo of my work desk, so, this morning I ran in to snap this.  Looks pretty much the same way today as yesterday.  If you are wondering what in the world would make me want to show my messy desk....check it out over at Stamping Ground.  And play along.  You will meet lots of creative people there.  And Miss Julia, she's always got something going on in her life.  I wonder how she finds time to do all she does!
Nothing too exciting.  Well, there is the new envelope maker that is the easiest I've ever used.  Trust me, I've purchased and used many.....The Envelope Punch by We Are MemoryKeepers.  It's the best.  I can't imagine improving on this one!

Ok, Last month I had a birthday, and my craft buddies created the most beautiful cards.  There is little I can say other than each is beautiful and will be cherished forever.  I hope the girls don't mind, I am going to post each.....

I'm So Blue and Card Class for September

Yes, and I'm also in the pink.  These are two cards I made using Poppystamps dies.  I first made it in pink, but decided to give it a go in blue.   The blue card is the one I will be teaching on the 11th. at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  I hope you have time to visit the Poppystamps blog page.  If you are interested in the class, please call Karen today, as the class is filling quickly and I want to make sure I have enough kits.

The second card we'll be making in class is this one.  I'm thinking Christmas these days.....
This is card is easy to make and shows how to add color to your die cuts.  For Christmas, I'm trying to make the cards flat so no extra postage is needed.  I think this one will fit the bill!

Well, that's it for me today. Happy crafting and see you soon.
