Mini Fold Calendar

I've been busy this weekend. I'll be posting everything within the next day or two, I wanted to show this Mini Fold Calendar first. I was blog hopping and found a Mini Fold Album that was posted by Lisa Johnson. I loved what she'd done, and I had to try it. Lisa's direction are great and easy to follow. I wanted to create a calendar, rather than an album. I used Creative Imaginations DP, the calendar pages were created in Print Shop, using the yearly calendar format. Martha Stewart border punches and Spellbinder dies were used to create the borders and paper embellishments. Pearls were added for even more pizazz. What a great little stocking stuffer or exchange gift. This was a fun project... thanks Lisa for sharing it.

Princess Bridget

My crafty little four year old grand daughter is coming for Christmas. When I last saw her, I'd helped her with a school project and gave her a tiny little album filled with family photos. She was so happy to have it, and so excited to glue and paste, I decided that she needed her very own journal where she could draw, write and color. I've been talking about making this journal with my SOS sisters and Karen started the ball rolling with a "glass slipper". Carolyn gave me hundreds of little sticker shapes, Virginia gave me some Disney papers and I started collecting Disney stickers for her to use in her journal. Last night I cut the papers to 9 by 8 and to the decorative paper I added white paper When I finished cutting, I had about 100 sheets, which now needed to be punched and bound. I used my Bind It All for both. I'd planned on using a white wire for binding, however, I'd gone a bit wild while cutting the pages, that the white wire was too small. I only had a 1 1/4 ring in black and I didn't want to use black. I remembered a wire that I had used during a class I'd taken to use my Bind It All. Well guess what, I had a red wire...I thought it looked better with the book than the black wire did, so, I used it.

Bridget is our little Princess and she'll be meeting the Disney princesses at Christmas....this book I hope will give her fond memories of her visit to America and the time she spent with her American Family. I'll have to tell her about all the Fairy God Mothers that helped with putting this journal together. A special thank you to all......

PPA65-Bring On The Bling

On Thursday morning, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. The Pals Paper Arts Challenge was Bring on the Bling.... Well! I LOVE GLITTER AND SHINE! Who knew? Ya Right! I couldn't wait to get started on this, however, sometimes life gets in the way of bling....Today I decided that no matter what I would start and finish this card. The Inspiration is the jewel in the center of the flower. It is actually two jewel stickers that I have joined, removing the center red jewel and using it on the ornament. I've been trying to find the packaging to let you know who manufactured the jewel...but, my room is such a mess, I'm lucky to have been able to find the dog....The background red glitter piece is from a sticker sheet I've had forever. The ribbon was on a gift I'd received and the flower is Heidi Swapp. I cut the ornament using one of my Spellbinder dies. I think I might just send this card to me :-) Off I go, I'm almost finished making a Journal for my 4 year old grand daughter....I'll put it on line next. Until then..... have a great day.

All Natural Fall Decoration

My daughter was walking to the bank yesterday and outside one of the shops was a beautiful Fall Decoration. She was admiring it and how everything looked so natural and real, when the little squirrel in the center of the display scurried away. She called me to tell me about what she'd seen. I told her when she walked back from the bank to have her camera ready, because I was sure the little thief would return. No explanation needed, this picture is worth 1000 words. Thank you Amy for sharing the photo with me....isn't walking fun, you never know what you will see!

Birthday Girl and 5 Card Day

What a great day we had. A wonderful lunch, great dessert, fantastic group of singers and the birthday girl looking younger every year! The birthday banner was designed by Deb and what a great banner it is. You can enlarge the photo to get a better look....Karen enjoying a yummy piece of birthday cake.
Lunch done....and the girls start arriving for the card class. (L to R) Carolyn, me and Virginia

The class was sold out, the girls were so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I wondered how long it would take to assemble all 5 cards.....the girls were quick as bunnies! Some worried they'd be too slow. I told them to start worrying if Karen and I put on our pajamas!

Great job girls! What a great kick off to making Christmas cards! 5 down and how many to go?
I want to thank everyone who made the card day a great success! THANK YOU ALL! I can't believe I've been teaching for a year....boy does time fly when you are having a good time.
A friendly reminder.....next Tuesday is OWH day. Join us for a fun day of creating cards for a cause! OWH is low on Hero Cards....how about a few quick cards with encouraging words for our soldiers!
Later!

Happy Birthday Karen - Happy Birthday To You!

Happy Birthday Karen .... a few days late....we're having a luncheon today (Tuesday) to celebrate a friend who encourages us to go outside the box to create something beautiful. We live in a small community and Karen brings exciting product to us, products we would not normally have access to. Webster's Pages and BoBunny are my two favorite paper addictions. Her flowers and bling are first rate...her ribbons are beautiful. As quick as she stocks the Spellbinder dies, they are gone. Her classes are so informative and I've learned so much from her. So......a big Happy Birthday Karen and many, many more!
Today is also my 5 card class. I'm excited to have everyone together getting started on Christmas Cards. If I remember.....I'll take some photos of the girls and of the Birthday Girl!
Again....HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN!

Updated Card

This will be a quick post. Did you ever make a card and you weren't totally happy with it? That was my card from yesterday. I thought the flower was just too flat....so, I slept on it and I got up and added a silk flower. Ok....now I'm happy...and off to the post office it goes!

Yesterday was an interesting day...I don't know where my cleaning spree came from, but I cleaned house all day, and then I looked at my two dogs and decided they too needed a good bath. Not part of their plan! To make a long story short....I now have a broken finger! The upside...today, 3 of my fingers are numb...one is making up for it! So, off I go for a great day of playing...starting with a walk with the Weight Watcher girls, followed by a day of card making with the SOS group and then.....the best part of all....picking up my son Dan.

Enjoy the update to my card. Have a wonderful Tuesday....Chat soon!

Welcome Card and Mojo Monday Challenge 160

Good Morning and Happy Monday....

I belong to a group called Silver Stampers and I try to make cards for all the new members (of which I am pretty new!) I also try to play along with the Mojo Monday Challenge whenever I can, so today, I am doing both. I did stray away from the challenge by adding the bow at the bottom, but the card just was looking too empty on the lower portion. So, welcome Kathy (she should get this card later in the week, I hope she doesn't look at my blog before the card arrives).

Off I go to get some house work done. Dan (my baby) comes tomorrow, I don't want him to think all I do is play with paper!

Have a wonderful week

Taking a Break and playing along with Pals Paper Arts

The Pals Paper Arts Challenge PPA-62 All Buttoned Up was such fun. Gotta love buttons.
I've been thinking holidays and I love snowmen....put them together and what do you get? An entry into this week's challenge.
I spent the past week organizing my craft room. I went through all my DP and was so happy to see papers I'd forgotten I'd purchased. My snow people rubber stamps are my favorites and this little trio has always been one of my very favorite stamps. I'd forgotten about my snow buttons, and found them quite by accident while digging through my button box. With the temperatures cooling down, it's time to look toward to winter.
Have a great week. I'll see my walking buddies tomorrow...
