It's Wednesday and Time to Share

Just playing around today.  My desk looks pretty tidy this week.  I've been playing with glitter and spray glue and I like the results.  Before I say more, I'm sharing with loads of others on a blog hosted by Julia and if you've followed me for any time at all, you'll know that if it's Wednesday, I most likely will be sharing my work desk....well, it's Wednesday in Julia's world and I shall now share.....you can to, check out WOYWW for all the how too's.

Now, on to my play day.  I used a product called Sprayment to lightly spray, but it's important to cover the entire area of a piece of dry waxed paper sheets. I get mine at Costco, but you can find this at most restaurant supply houses. It doesn't feel waxy.   It's used by prep cooks, if you've worked in restaurants you've seen this product.  Anyway....after spraying I pour on glitter.  For this sheet I used Martha Stewarts yellow gold. I then cover the glittered piece with another sheet of the dry waxed paper and brayer the glittered piece.  After it's dried, I pour the extra glitter back into the bottle.

Here's the finished sheet....I wish glitter showed up better.  I think I need a class on taking photos with glitter.  (that's a hint for my daughter...lets see if she reads this)

I like how pliable and easy to cut the glittered sheet is.  I'm going to play around a bit more.  I think I will try a spray sealer to see if this will protect the glitter.  I'll let you know if sealing the glitter makes for a better product.  I have tons of colored glitter and I was so surprised to see how little glitter this process really uses.

That's it for me today.  I hope you have a most creatively productive day.

Until next time.....Hugs from a much cooler Northern California, with the promise of weekend rain!  Yippee!

  3. Spray glue on waxed paper sheets , that's pretty cool...I recently did something similar using dryer sheets which you glued over designer paper and then applied clear glitter so that some stuck through the dryer sheet - http://joannamunster.com/2014/01/29/whw-128-dryer-sheet-technique/. Enjoy your crafting cheers RobynO#16

  7. What a fantastic idea Mary, I have some glitter card but the Cuttlebug hates to die cut it, this must be much thinner. I hope you get some rain or snow where you're at, drought must be awful to deal with. The world has gone mad, what with floods all over Europe and loads of snow in parts of the States! No break yet! Drove to work in a white out most of the way, at least the roads are ok.

  12. Now this looks a good project for me to actually get my brayer out and use it ( even if not for the purpose intended) then I wouldn't feel so bad about it lurking in the back of the drawer! Hugs Mrs a.
