Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU!

I am rarely at a loss for words.  This post is the exception.  A few weeks back, I received an email from Di at Pixie’s Crafty Workshop.  She said when she got a Christmas card returned, she decided to do some investigating and found that we had lost our home in the Camp Fire in California on November 8th of 2018.  She said that explained why she had not gotten a Christmas card in 2018 or 2019.  She and I have been emailing a lot lately, Di asked if there was anything in particular, she could help me find.  I told her one of the items I really missed was a Memory Box die named Piano Border.  I told her it was retired and I had searched and given up on ever finding it.  Well in Di fashion, she went to work and was able to locate the die.  I will let her tell you the story of the search.  But that’s not all.  Di, again in Di fashion, put out the word that a fellow crafter could use help, and that help is coming daily!  One of the gals, Donna W stated in a card what a great idea Di had to have a “craft shower”.  And I have been showered with so many beautiful things.  I am so very blessed.  Thank You!

The photo I attached doesn't tell the story of the beauty within those drawers, that will come hopefully next week.  But for now, I had to purchase two three drawer carts and honestly, I need to purchase another.  Thank You!

Words do not and could never explain how blessed, how loved I am feeling, and how honored I am to have been entrusted with treasures from your craft rooms.  I will tell you I have not colored in two years.  But the rubber stamps have me coloring again, and I am reminded of the peace that comes over me when I put color to stamps.    I will share coloring soon.  I’ve received sets of cards to inspire, but also to give me a start on building my card reserve.  Thank You!

Now on to Di.  For years I hopped in and out of the playground.  Di has a way of letting all of us feel like kids again and a place for us to get into blog trouble, without the police having to be called.  Well, I guess when a few snuck under the gates, maybe the blog police should have been called….anyway, Di has always offered we paper crafters a place to show what we’ve created, to share things in our daily lives, to learn from others and to make new friends that we may never ever physically meet, but friends in every sense of the word.  Di makes the world a smaller, happier place.  A place we can feel safe and part of a community.  The outpouring of love I’ve received directly reflects back to the love we all have for this wonderful woman.  I honestly believe every item that has come my way carries with it the love that crafter has for Di.  Every item is a testament to the love we all have for her.  Di, I am picturing myself standing beside all the playground friends as we raise our glasses to you.  You are an amazing woman and much loved by all of us.  You have given us community and I know we are all thankful.  Di, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.  And to everyone in the playground, I say you have renewed my love of all things paper and have warmed and blessed me with your generosity and caring.    Now…lets run to the swings and play the day away.  Di. Thank You!

I want everyone who shared treasures with me to know that I will be offering items to Cathy, Cat, Virginia, Mary Jane and Rita.  They too lost everything and though some will not return to paper crafting, I want those that will to enjoy some of the items shared.  Thank You!

Before closing, I want to tell you of a mini-album I received from Gail S.  The album is very sweet, the back cover had a quote that I now use whenever I’m feeling the loss of the closeness of friends and neighbors.  The quote says, “Don’t look back.  You aren’t going that way.”    I truly believe I am moving forward.  I’m sure my children will be happy to hear this.  I think they weren't sure this would ever happen!  So thank you all for helping bring me to the here and now!

I need to add one more note:  I'm having a problem posting comments on your blog pages and also on my own.  My daughter will be here in 2 weeks and we will continue working on the problem.  If anyone else has ever had this problem....please share how you fixed it..  I can post a new post on my blog, and there are two blogs I've been able to comment on, but as for every other blog, nothing happens.  Email me please if you think of a fix.  If I can't find one, I may have to start all over again...I hope this doesn't happen!

Again, I thank each and everyone who sent cards, words of encouragement, and treasures. I will be forever thankful.

I'm hoping to enter this week's challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop ...I guess I best get creating!

Hugs and love from Me to You!

  1. Oh Mary - I'm nothing special. I love the Playground and all who come and play, even if they can be little scallywags at times. We're just trying our very best to lift a Playmate (ie. you) up and 'be the wind beneath your wings'. You are one of us, and we love and care about you very much. There is more giving and kindness in our beloved Snippets Playground than I could ever have imagined. For your wonderful 'craft shower' gotta love that term when we're in the middle of gales and pouring rain here in the UK, I was just the little catalyst to kick it off, the girls picked it up from there. But I still thank you from the bottom of my heart for your very kind and so beautiful words. It means more than you will ever, ever know. Now - open that bottle (several may be needed as there's a good few of us if we don't check their ages) - fill those glasses and .......let's get crafting! With snippets of course :)

Loads of love and hugs - and my deepest thanks again for the beautiful words.

Di xx And, a 'woof' from Dudley Dog as well!

  2. A beautiful post, Mary. I heartily agree with everything you said about our dear Di. She is a lovely person with a heart and spirit bigger than the sky. We all adore her!!

Thanks for sharing that photo of your craft drawers. What a wonderful outpouring of support for you!! How heartwarming to hear that it has inspired you to craft again. I am additionally thrilled to know that some of the "shower gifts" will be shared with others that lost all their crafty stashes, too. What a thoughtful and kind thing to do!! So glad for the role Di played in letting us know about your situation.

Hugs and much love to you. I am looking fwd to playing with you in the Playground!!

It's so nice to see all the gifts that are coming your way and to know you are sharing with your friends that also lost everything. I'm glad everyone could put you in the spirit of creating again. You're so right that our Di is a special person. Enjoy! [Bunny]

  9. Hello Mary, how nice to meet you and read this heart-warming post! Di has brought many folks together from all over the world to show that caring is sharing. I hope you are showered with wonderful crafty items that lift you up and and let you know there are many of us who care about you and what you've endured. I hope those drawers are soon filled with many things you can use, or your friends can use who have also suffered tremendous losses. Don't look back - that's a great thing to repeat daily - I may have to borrow that! Happy crafting!

  10. A lovely post Mary, I'm just beginning to play catch up after the second eye op and hope to be more active in blogland and in my craft room just as soon as I can get glasses sorted for close work, at the moment I have to sit yards away from the screen to get an idea what it all says!!

  11. Hi Mary, how lovely t hear from you last week, sorry I’m slack at popping over...
I’ve been praying for you since read the dilemma you experienced in such loss, truly only the LORD knows how deeply such things affect you. May He be your comfort and stay through this.
Love the pile of stash already arrived and know more is in way..

Now re commenting, I’m not sure if you’re using mobile device or computer??

But in any case my suggestion is to use Google Chrome web browser.
Ie download chrome, sign into that and use that for that for commenting on blogs.
Blogger is owned by Google and Chrome is owned by Google and they talk to one another.

Issues with commenting is because of conflict in software ie web browser you are on, some blogger likes some it does not, especially so with Apple. I’m on iPad and Safari does not play ball. Can’t use it.
Even though signed in, it can’t recognise it and lose comment. I don’t use computer at all for blogging. All on mobile devices.
Praying this may help solve it for you. ❤️🙏🏻
Lord bless and keep you in the hollow of His hand through every day, dear Mary. He gets it. He sees all our headaches and cares like no-one else does.

And He uses wonderful caring loving people like our Di to brighten our day, she’s a real treasure.
Thanks for Sharing, God bless, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

  12. Hi Mary, to nice to meet you! You have a way with words that I don't have and you have summed up Di perfectly! She is indeed a treasured friend to so many of us and we are all lucky to have her. But then again, everyone that plays at the Playground are treasured friends. I have been seeing that saying too, and have been trying hard to live by it as well since the loss of my sweet husband 4 1/2 years ago. Didn't think I would have even made it one year. So I know exactly how you feel my sweet friend. Together we will move forward as that is the way we need to go. I will probably have a few more things to send to you and when I get them together, will send them. Might take me a while though. I'm honored to have you share them with your friends that lost everything too. I can't even imagine losing my home and precious memories of things inside. I know they are only material things and not a loss of life, but we still have to mourn those things as well as it is a shock to our system. Sending much love, big hugs and prayers to you-Brenda
