Madelaine, one of my husband's original and favorite painting students passed away earlier in the month. She was a great friend to all and will be missed by all of us. Her memorial service is Saturday. I've been thinking about the perfect card for her, and yesterday while creating cards for Operation Write Home, I designed this card. Madelaine was a seamstress, an artist, she created the most beautiful paintings, and formals for Rainbow Girls. She was a wonderful mom, wife and friend. She will always be missed, but never forgotten.
Tuesday night, after coming home from a birthday party, my honey and the two doggies went to bed. I, on the other hand am finding it difficult to get to sleep before mid-night...so, I got busy on my card. I've got to say, my desk looked pretty organized. Mostly because I came home from a day at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique and I unpacked the items I'd need for this card onto my workdesk in the family room and I began working.
Here's a close up of some of the items I used. Missing from the photo are the Spellbinder Beaded Circle dies. I love them. With four great sizes, I can use them on many projects. Check out the ribbon. I purchased it from Karen at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. She stocks the most beautiful ribbons and they are always economically priced. If you want to know about the ribbon, contact her...tell her I sent you... I don't know what the price will be with shipping, but I'm sure she can tell you. Supplies of this ribbon are limited, if you want some...better hurry. The ribbon, card stock and flower were all purchased from Karen at PSB.
So, what else did I use to make this card. Crafts U Love, carry a line of die cut and embossing
folders by Marianne Design. I love them! The one I used is DS0907. What you don't see is the inside of the card where I used DS0908. Both are beautiful. The bottom border was cut using my Martha Stewart punch - eyelet lace.
Since I have my work area set up in the family room, and since I already have all the supplies out, I think I will spend my day (or a good part of it) creating more cards like this one. Enjoy your day. We're expecting more snow and rain....I think this may be a great weekend to play in my room.
Hugs to all,
Mary AKA: Glitter Grammy
