A Quick Card

I needed a quick card for graduation.  I have nothing that says graduation so I thought I would make a music themed card, especially since Hannah is very musical.  I die cut the piano key border using the Piano Keys Edger by Frantic Stamper and the Elizabeth Craft Notes along with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I lined the card with a pale lavender piece of card stock and the card was complete.  I love it when cards come together quickly.  Especially when I needed this one so soon.

Well, that's it for today.....I hope this post finds everyone well.

A Play Day

Yesterday I had every intention to clean my craft room.  Well, I found a scrap of paper that was in my scrap/snippet folder and I had a die I hadn't used yet (actually two dies), well I think you know where this is going......  My sister will be getting this card....cause I'm thinking of her.

Anyway, long story short, I saw a card on Franticstamper blog and I loved it.  So I went to her store and purchased two dies.  The floral one and the floral border.  Well, I was cleaning my craft room, and I had to stop to make a card.  You know you see something, it wakes you up and you have to play with paper.  This card is almost exactly as I saw it on Fran's site.  It was made by Karen Oliver a talented paper artist who lives in New Zealand.  Usually the cards I make from an inspiration, don't turn out looking anything like the inspiration card.  This one sure did.  So thank you Karen for inspiring me to make this card....now can you come over and help me clean my craft room?

I used paper I had left from other makes.  I didn't have any yellow or green pieces, so I used snippets of white, die cut the die and used it as a stencil.  Then I colored the stencil using Sharpie pens and die cut the colored pieces to get what you see.    The two dies are from Frantic Stamper Precision Cutting Dies Flower Border and Edger FRA-Die-10782 and Frantic Stamper Precision Die Spring Swag Builder FRA-Die-10780.  The Sentiment die is Creative Expressions Mini Die Thinking of You CEDSS006.  I had to color that too for this I used Distress Ink and colored a piece of white paper and then die cut it.

Well, guess what, my craft room still isn't clean!  So I guess I should get to it and do it....right?

I'm going to share this make on Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Until next time....thanks for stopping by.  I hope you visit Karen's blog page and if you need dies... I love Frantic Stamper.

Off I go, Hugs from my world to yours,

Sun Kissed

This card was so much fun to create, and there are lots of elements that added to the fun.  Many of the elements were fussy cut from the Graphic45 Sun Kissed Collection, as was the base and the cover graphic.  I don't remember the name of the fold, I saw it on YouTube and I didn't save it to my library...I don't know how that happened....

The die cuts were colored with Tim Holtz Oxide Ink prior to cutting and some were then sponged for a bit more detail.

Here are the dies I used:

Frantic Stamper:  FRA-DIE-09506 - Ocean Floor
Marianne - Creatables - LR-0230
Scrapping Cottage - CCE-269-Conch Shell
Tutti - Fishing Net - TUTTI-444
Memory Box - Big Brain Coral - 99733, Seaweed Stalks 99717, Delicate Sea Fan - 99744

All dies were purchased from:  FranticStamper  I don't know if you've ever visited Fran's site, but it is filled with tons of supplies.

I stenciled the envelope using Memory Box Diamond - 88522 after I created the envelope using We R Memory Keepers Envelope punch board.

I was inspired to make this card by the fold, and  knew I wanted to use the Graphic 45 paper.  The rest just seemed to happen...

Here's the inside.....
Off I go.  Celebrating Independence Day AKA: 4th of July.... I need to get the ribs ready for the grill.

Sending hugs and Happy Crafting...

Happy Birthday... Party In A Card

This action card was fun to create.  My neighbor loves handmade cards and I really enjoy making them for him.  I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly this card came together.  I think it actually took more time thinking about it than it took to create.

and here is what I did to the inside:

I struggle making cards for boys and men.  I think this one works for both.

I used a white base covered in BoBunny Double Dot paper.  I can't tell you who made the candle paper because I was using bits and pieces and sadly the label was removed.  The balloons, candles, pop up for the inside and the spinner are Elizabeth Craft Dies.  The stars are Frantic Stamper and the sentiment is Just Right.

Until next time......happy crafting....

Sparkly Snowflakes and Inspiration Card

This month's Sparkles Challenge is Snowflakes.  I want to thank Joan for this challenge.  I hope you have a chance to play along.  If you want to see what the design team created, check out our creations here.    My card was inspired by a card I'd seen on Pinterest.  Now mind you....my card isn't going to look much like the inspiration card, but I was inspired none the less......and here is the card that inspired me.
Can you see the similarities?  Heather's flowers are grouped beautifully.  My snowflakes are randomly placed.  I have silver string and Heather has gold.  The stripes on the left side of the card are very similar.  I don't know how Heather made her stripes.  Mine were made by putting silver Colorbox ink on a stripe embossing folder and stamping with it.  Heather didn't have a sentiment, but I added Noel a die from Frantic Stamper.

I can only imagine the inside of Heather's card, I see flowers peeking out.  I'm sure the inside is as lovely as the outside.  Here is mine.
I always try to add elements from the outside of a card into the inside.  I repeated the stripes, added snowflakes and another Frantic Stamper Noel die.  Of course a sentiment was stamped and this card is finished.

That's it for my May Sparkles Christmas Challenge.  I do hope you play along.  I'll be checking to see what you create.

Until next time,
Happy May, I hope you find time to create and enjoy Spring.  It's been a long wet winter here and I am so looking forward to playing outside.

Hugs,
Mary Mac

New Years Resolution

My desk on Wednesday looks pretty much the same today.  I'm posting a day late...so what's new?  Yesterday seemed to come and go and as I stood in my craft room, I wondered what had I actually done with my day.  Certainly I didn't make any cards.....I did unpack from my Monday class, and started cutting kits for my February class.  I started working on a baby album for my newest great nephew Shawn (shhhhh don't tell), I went for a walk with friends and then......I spent two hours looking for a tiny, tiny part of a die set that I'd just received.  Did I find it....nope!  I've had a week of loosing things, Thankfully, my brain is safely stored in my head!  At my age, any temporary loss of items makes you go....oh oh!  Two of the three "Mis-Placed" items have been found.  However, if you should happen to find a tiny blue, cherry die.....it's mine!  :-)

Speaking of dies....I ordered these:
Marianne Designs from Frantic Stamper.  I've been drooling over the scissors for months, I finally gave in, and decided that I really, really needed the sleigh, reindeer and of course the cupcake (which is now missing a part...darn!).  I'm hoping to have a chance to work on some cards this weekend.... I have a play day with Brenda on Sunday, Maybe I'll have my act together by then!

I met a very sweet gal through What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, she's a real go getter, I hope you have a chance to check out her blog page.  Mind you, she's on vacation now and is organized enough to have brought needed supplies for making beautiful cards....  Meet Bridget.  I hope you have a minute to check out not only what she's doing, but what all the fantastic folks are doing at Stamping Ground.

Until next Wednesday, or maybe Thursday.....Have a wonderful, wonderful week.

Hugs to all,
